Artist's Palette is on the face of the Black Mountains in Death Valley, Califonia, and is appropiately named after all the colours contained within the rock formations, (produced by volcanic action, and weathering of the minerals within the rock). The image shown here is one of many I made that day; the subtle lighting and dappled cloud helped me to make an image which I hope conveys the palette as it should be seen.
