I have spent a lot of time in Provence making landscape images of the lavender fields, and have many pictures to show for it. I came across this scene when hunting for a particular field, and saw that the white barn complemented the shade of the lavender perfectly. I chose to make the lavender out of focus in the scene, to form a block of colour, drawing attention to the barn.
